Philadelphia Eagles’ Brandon Graham optimistic about bright prospects with the team – NFL News
Philadelphia Eagles’ defensive end, Brandon Graham, who is still in his early days in the National Football League (NFL), has expressed optimism about his prospects with the team and thinks that the next season will open a new chapter in his NFL life.
Graham, who was drafted by Eagles in 2010, started only six games while playing 13 in his rookie year. He registered a total of 13 tackles in those games.
However, he suffered an injury in the later part of the season and was unable to play the rest of the games. Later, he underwent a surgery to treat his injury, but was still unable to take the field.
In the last season, he could only play three games as the injury was still bothering him. In three games of the last season, he only made four tackles.
He watched most of the last season on the sidelines and despite being eager to play, he could only cheer for his teammates.
But the wait is over now, and Graham thinks that he is fit enough to take the field and play all games in the next season. He reported to the team’s offseason workout programme on Monday and seemed in a proper shape.
While informing that he has been working out of late, Graham said:
"I'm in way better shape than I've been in for a while, all the way back to my junior year in college. I've been eating right, training right, doing a lot of Olympic-style lifting and explosive movements. I'm going to let Coach tell me how I'm doing. It
all comes from him.”
Graham’s participation in the next season will depend upon his performance in the offseason and training camp this summer. Eagles’ head coach, Andy Reid, is going to monitor his performance and he is well aware of the fact that the final call will be made
by the coach.
He said:
"I don't really know how I'm doing. That's for Coach to decide. I'm just focused on the day-by-day part of my job. My knee feels great. I've lost a lot of weight and I'm faster and stronger and I feel great.”
The decision about Graham’s participation in the next season is yet to be made, but it is nevertheless an encouraging development that the player has recovered from the injury.
