Philadelphia Eagles D-line to use pressure tactics to counter New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning
Philadelphia Eagles know that it is not easy to penetrate New York Giants balanced offence and get to their quarterback Eli Manning right after any snap and that is why they are going to apply pressure tactics in Week 4 game against New York Giants to dominate
them.
Manning, who has been playing pretty well since the last few years, has also found his rhythm this season and his performance in Week 2 against Tampa Bay Buccaneers stunned everyone.
The Giants quarterback staged yet another comeback victory under pressure, throwing for more than 500 yards against the Bucs.
However, there will not be any smooth sailing for Manning against Eagles, who have done well on the defence to win two of their three games.
Eagles are coming off a defeat and they are looking for a fresh start as they host Giants. According to the details present on the team’s website, Eagles linebacker DeMeco Ryans said:
“It’s a big game, a big week. With this being a divisional game, it’s huge for us. Our first divisional game is when we’re looking to start out really good in our division."
Ryans also said that it is not easy to just directly reach Manning on the field when the quarterback has got the ball because protection around him is very strong. The Eagles linebacker said:
"Most teams are strong in one area or another, but they are a balanced team. With that, you just have to be ready to stop the run first and foremost, and then see if we can get after the quarterback."
Meanwhile, Eagles defensive end Trent Cole has also appreciated Manning’s skills. Cole has praised Manning’s performance, but at the same time the defensive end has also shared the way Eagles will handle Giants offence.
Cole said:
"It starts up front. It starts with the D-line. We have to apply pressure. That’s where it’s going to start, and that’s how it’s going to happen."
In just three games of the season, Manning has already gained more than 1,000 yards, averaging around 8.5 yards per pass, while he has also done well to control his accuracy. Moreover, he is also renowned for playing well under pressure. The Eagles are not
going to get him easily.
