Philadelphia Eagles QB Michael Vick: This offseason has been great – NFL News
As Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick arrived at training camp on Sunday, July 22, 2012, he seemed motivated and desperate to start training with his teammates.
Vick has remained pretty active throughout this offseason and has developed a lot of hype around the team’s prospects in the upcoming season.
He was unable to train properly last year owing to the National Football League (NFL) lockout and this has been cited as an excuse a number of times for Eagles’ failure in the 2011 season.
This time around, they have received the due training during the offseason. By the looks of the things, Vick is pleased with the overall progress of the team. According to the details present on the team’s official website, Vick is of the view that this
offseason has been great. He said of the healthy offseason:
"It goes to show that we have room for progression, and that's big. And I think I made a lot of strides.”
He added:
“It was a challenge each and every day, going against our defence, and I know vice-versa for them, but we made the most of it."
All the players are expected to be at the camp from July 25 and the Eagles will have around three weeks to train before focusing on their preseason matchups.
"I think we all want to go out and try to achieve success and make sure we put the hard work in on the practice field, which is where it all starts. We're very excited and our motivation is through the roof and we just want to have fun at the end of the
day."
Recently, Vick commented that Eagles could build a dynasty with the roster they have at the moment.
Although it was seen as another move aimed at creating hype to motivate fans and players, the quarterback is still on his words.
Eagles finished the last season 8-8 without qualifying for the playoffs and this time they are desperate to win not only the National Football Conference (NFC) East division, but the entire conference to get a shot at the Super Bowl. Only time will prove
credibility of Vick’s claim.
