Philadelphia Eagles QB Michael Vick hopes for further improvement – NFL News
The 2012 season could be do-or-die for quarterback Michael Vick as far as his prospects with Philadelphia Eagles are concerned and that is why the player has hoped for further improving his game despite providing his team a winning start.
Eagles have won both their games of the season, but the victories were supported by their good fortune as their performance had many flaws.
In the season opener against Cleveland Browns, Vick, who sent a total of four interceptions in the game, got the game-winning touchdown with less than two minutes left of the clock.
In Week 2 game against Baltimore Ravens, Vick again provided the game-winning touchdown in the final minutes of the game. He sent two interceptions in the game.
Eagles had almost lost both the games, but for Vick’s touchdowns. They scoring moves would not be needed if Vick and the offence had performed well throughout the game.
This has raised many questions on Eagles’ prospects as they are not going to be rescued by their good fortune every time and with 14 more games still left in the regular season they need to work hard if they are seeking a playoff berth.
After the victory against Ravens, Vick admitted that there were a lot of areas for him and the team to improve. According to the details present on the team’s website, he said of the flaws:
"Just thinking about it makes me sick to my stomach as far as how many times we’ve turned the ball over in two games. We just have to do a better job at holding onto the football; I have to do a better job in my decision-making. And everything will work
itself out. I believe in my guys outside. I believe in the guys in front of me. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. That’s what I truly believe."
Being a veteran quarterback, Vick must take the blame for the woes of Eagles and he must try to improve his form that will eventually result in better offensive output of the team.
By doing so, he could also secure his future with Eagles and save job of head coach Andy Reid as well.
