Philadelphia Eagles’ QB Michael Vick seeks better performance from team in 2012 season – NFL News
Before the start of the last National Football League (NFL) season, the Philadelphia Eagles were considered as one of the most threatening units, but as the season progressed they began slumping.
Although they did fight back to end the season on a positive note, the claims they had made before the start of the season were not materialised.
The NFL lockout, which prevented the players from training with each other and their coaches last year, is considered to be one of the main reasons for the team’s failures.
Not only that, the addition of a few star players through the free agency market and impending contract situation of some players also brought negative energy in the unit.
With the 2012 season in sight, Eagles are not facing any problem they faced last year.
The organised team activities (OTAs) are going on, the players have participated in the offseason conditioning programme, two of their main players, DeSean Jackson and LeSean McCoy, have received a long-term job security and the players have developed good
understating between each other.
According to Eagles’ quarterback, Michael Vick, this is the time when the players should serve all their energies in focusing on the upcoming season to ensure better performance.
As per the details present on the team’s official website, Vick is of the view that since the players are not facing any problem like the lockout or any contract situation, they should be able to work hard and focus on growing mentally strong.
He said:
"It all starts with your attitude. Guys can go out and play with a clear-level head then I think you can get the most out of them and they can get the most out of themselves. Everybody's taken care of. There's nothing else to do but to go out and play good
football."
While expressing optimism for the upcoming season, he said:
"You're out here trying to detail your work, get better as an individual and as a team. Everything happens for a reason. I think this year is a chance for us to jell together, get to know one another, work on being the best players we can be."
