Philadelphia Eagles QB Nick Foles on game against Dallas Cowboys: Be ready for anything – NFL News
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nick Foles made his National Football League (NFL) debut a few weeks ago when he replaced the injured quarterback Michael Vick in a game against Dallas Cowboys.
After that game, Foles got his first NFL start in the next game and has been starting games in Vick’s absence. Unfortunately, the rookie has not yet been able to get his first NFL win, but he has certainly shown signs of improvement.
Since both teams have faced each other recently, this game presents a sense of familiarity for both teams. This has given Foles an advantage, but at the same time it has also favoured the Cowboys.
Foles is of the view that the experience of his previous meeting with the Cowboys will help him better his performance in the next meeting, but he has admitted that the Cowboys are not an easy opponent to deal with.
According to the details present on the team’s website, Foles said after Wednesday’s practice:
"We were able to watch the game; see how they played us and certain things. But at the same time, they can watch the film too. They have the same film. So, be ready for anything. A lot of film work, a lot of preparation and, when the game comes, just read
out what they’re doing and make the best decisions."
Against the Cowboys, Foles sent one interception and got two more in the next game. However, he improved his accuracy and controlled the ball well in the last game that he spent interception-free.
Foles is struggling to generate scoring drives frequently, but gradual improvement in his game has pleased everyone. The rookie is also satisfied with his improvement, but knows that he has to do more so as to take the team out of the current slump that
has pushed the Eagles at the bottom of National Football Conference (NFC) East.
Foles said:
"I was just progressing every day. Getting better every day on the practice field, working as hard as I can in the film room and everything and that’s all I can do; just work better every day to improve.”
