Philadelphia Eagles RB LeSean McCoy and New York Giants DE Osi Umenyiora reignite rivalry – NFL News
Philadelphia Eagles running back LeSean McCoy and New York Giants defensive end Osi Umenyiora have once again ignited their rivalry and this was supposed to happen as both teams are scheduled to meet for Week 4 game of the season this Sunday.
The days leading up to the game day are expected to witness further trash talk, which has already been started between the two players (others could also join them).
Initially, both players used to take shots at each other over Twitter, but now they have started commenting on each other even on media shows.
During the offseason, Osi sent a Twitter message to McCoy, asking him to enjoy Mother’s Day. At that time, McCoy did not respond to Osi because he was in deal negotiations with the Eagles and coach Andy Reid had barred him from involving in any sort of controversy.
McCoy has now taken a shot at Osi and said on a show aired on ESPN via New York Daily News:
“I think he thinks he’s better than what he really is. I think he’s a ballerina in a Giants uniform, but other than that that’s all I got to say about Osi.”
The Eagles running back also said:
“I don’t like Osi. I don’t know how he feels. He might think it’s a game, but I don’t play them type of games. So every time on the field I would say stuff to him like ‘You is a bum. You are the third-best defensive lineman on the defence.’ Which I didn’t
lie.”
He continued:
“Wait, I did lie. He’s like fourth now, so I actually did lie.”
Osi did not stay behind and gave a prompt response to McCoy’s remarks. As there still are a few days left in their encounter one might expect the two players engaging in such talks more often.
The interesting thing to note before the game is whether other players join them to build hype of the game. Moreover, it will be exciting to see both of them playing against each other on the field where they might also take their grudges out on each other.
Eagles and Giants have won two games each so far in the season.
