Philadelphia Eagles’ defensive end Brandon Graham wants to keep getting better – NFL News
The injury-ridden career of Philadelphia Eagles’ defensive end, Brandon Graham, is not bothering him at the moment as the player stays focused on developing his skills and ‘keep getting better’.
In his short, two-year career in the National Football League (NFL), Graham is yet to prove his talent as the number of opportunities he got was cut short by a knee injury he suffered in his rookie season.
Selected as the 13th overall pick in the 2010 draft, Graham played 13 games in his rookie season before suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) that jeopardised his future.
He started six games in the season and registered a total of 13 tackles.
Later, he underwent a surgery to treat the injury and was placed on the injured reserved list.
Before the start of the last season, he was placed on the physically unable to perform list as he had not yet recovered from the injury.
The team removed his name from the list so he could practise and take part in the regular season games, but the injury kept on bothering him and he could only play three games last season in which he recorded a total of four tackles.
According to the details present on the team’s official website, Graham has recovered from the injury and looking forward to grooming his skills during the ongoing organised team activities (OTAs).
He has given the due rest to his knee and is upbeat about the upcoming season. He said:
"Just getting a whole year and a half under my belt, now I don't really think about my knee as I did when I was coming back. That's what I was doing a lot, I was favouring it. Now ... I just go as hard as I can and just take it one day, just keep getting
better.”
He was of the view that before the start of the last season his knee was not hundred percent, but according to him, that is not a problem anymore.
He said:
"Coming back (last year), I still wasn't as in shape as I needed to be. But now, that's not a problem at all. I just need to keep getting in game shape, even though by (training) camp you still won't be in game shape."
