Philadelphia Eagles focused on the game against New York Jets – NFL News
Every passing week of the National Football League current season is a surprise full of excitement for Philadelphia Eagles. They are not yet out of the playoff race, but do not know whether they will reach the postseason. They
seem to have been enjoying this dilemma as it has kept the season lively for them. Hoping to enjoy the ‘fun-filled’ season and end it on a positive note, the Eagles are going to take on New York Jets this Sunday.
Following the practice session on Thursday, Eagles’ wide receiver DeSean Jackson said that he is focusing on the game against the Jets and that he is going to enjoy the game.
"My mindset is great," the wide receiver said. "I'm just coming to work having fun, doing everything I need to do to stay out of the way and just come and work as hard as I can. As far as anything else mindset-wise, I don't get
caught up in that."
Eagles have won five games this season and lost eight. They are ranked third in the National Football Conference East division ranking. Their chances of reaching the postseason by topping the group are next to zero, but the possibility
of entering the next round through a wildcard cannot be ignored.
Although there are a few more strong contenders for the wildcard berth as well, Eagles’ cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha thinks that his team still has a chance and said that the Eagles will try to win the rest of the games in the regular
season.
“Our story still isn't over yet, so there is always something to learn and we're still fighting. That's pretty much where I stand with that," Asomugha said.
Meanwhile, quarterback Michael Vick, who sat out of the Wednesday’s practice session, has said that he is ready to face the Jets.
He informed that missing the practice was just a precautionary measure that he adopted to ensure his injured ribs get the due rest. He said that he is still is not hundred per cent fit, but asserted that he is getting better with
each day.
“It’s a little sore when I throw, but I can tolerate it. I’m getting treatment every day and it’s getting better."
