Philadelphia Eagles’ general manager Howie Roseman backs Michael Vick – NFL News
The Philadelphia Eagles have repeatedly asserted that they have faith in their regular quarterback, Michael Vick, and that his position with the team does not have any threat.
These claims were officially certified on Thursday, April 19, 2012, when the franchise’s general manager, Howie Roseman, expressed his faith in the quarterback, saying that “we're all in with Michael”.
Talking to reporters, the general manager said:
"We have so much confidence in Michael Vick leading our team. The way that he works and the determination he has, we're all in with Michael.”
Roseman added:
"Michael is still a young quarterback. He looks great to me. He's healthy and he's determined. We feel very lucky to have him as our franchise quarterback."
Earlier, it was reported that Eagles, like many other National Football League (NFL) franchises, were interested in signing veteran quarterback, Peyton Manning, who was released by Indianapolis Colts after association of 14 years with the player.
Peyton’s chase in presence of Vick might have jeopardised the latter’s association with the team, but nothing happened as Peyton decided to join the Denver Broncos.
Moreover, it was also reported that Eagles were interested in hiring a quarterback in the upcoming drafts. Eagles have the 15th pick in the first round of the drafts.
Vick, who has been playing with Eagles for the last three seasons, has played a vital role in the team’s success. In his first season with the team, he did not get plenty of opportunities to showcase his talent, but his last two seasons were particularly
special.
In the 2010 season, he played and started 12 games in which he passed for a total of 3,018 yards. In the last NFL season, he played and started 13 games and passed for a total of 3,303 yards.
Eagles lost the last NFL season after failing to qualify for the playoffs as they ended the season with eight victories and eight defeats. Furthermore, they have not yet been able to win the Super Bowl title despite the presence of many star players in the
line-up.
With Eagles showing confidence in their regular quarterback and the team developing chemistry, one can hope for a better performance from the team in the next season.
