"I have to admit. It will feel good to wake up tomorrow knowing that the deal is done. It's over with.”
He added:
"I'm one of those guys who wants to be fully focused on football."
Meanwhile, Eagles’ general manager, Howie Roseman, has also expressed excitement over giving the new deal to McCoy.
McCoy has been playing brilliantly for the Eagles and was also selected for the last year’s Pro Bowl squad, and ensuring his presence for a long time will help Eagles achieve their goal of winning the Super Bowl.
Roseman said of the deal:
"We're just so excited to have him here. He's part of the family. His smile and his play is so important to this organization and this team. I know I speak for all of us when I say we're just real excited that he's going to be here for a long time."
McCoy himself wants to bring the Super Bowl trophy to Philadelphia and said:
"We have one main goal. The main goal is to win a championship. I think we're on the same page."
Earlier, Eagles’ wide receiver, DeSean Jackson, had advised McCoy against missing the team’s training activities so as to press the deal demands. However, it was reported right from the beginning that McCoy and Eagles were not facing any deadlock over the
