Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick: I have a lot of football left to play – NFL News
Although Philadelphia Eagles veteran quarterback Michael Vick has not been able to play his best football this season, the quarterback still believes that he has a lot of football left to play.
Vick, 32, has only played nine games this season. He was removed from the starting line after suffering a concussion, but has not been able to return yet.
Vick was replaced by Nick Foles, who is still performing duties on the starting line. However, the veteran’s absence and the rookie’s presence on the line have not changed the team’s fortunes this season.
Eagles started off the season in a brilliant manner by winning three of their first four games. However, they went on to lose eight games in a row after that. They broke the losing streak with a win over Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 14, but then lost in
Week 15 against Cincinnati Bengals.
At present, the Eagles are 4-10 and placed at the bottom of National Football Conference (NFC) East. There are many rumours surrounding Vick’s future with the Eagles, but the quarterback is not focusing them.
The quarterback has asserted that he still has a lot left in his tank, and has hoped to play as long as possible. According to the details present on Eagles’ website, Vick said:
“I just feel like I have a lot of football left to play. I have a lot left in my tank. I'm enjoying the game. I feel fresh. As of right now, I have to continue to help this football team win these last two games and the future will take care of itself."
If the Eagles win the remaining two games of the season, they will finish with 6-10 record, which is poor than their 8-8 finish last season.
Even though the Eagles cannot secure a playoff berth now, Vick still wants to fight until the end. He said:
"It was a lot of hardships this year not only for me, but as a locker room because we wanted to win.”
Vick added:
“We've continued to try to make strides in whatever way we can and get wins. The one thing I'll say is we'll fight until the end.”
