Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick: Mistakes can be corrected – NFL News
After a lacklustre performance in the 2012 season opener against Cleveland Browns, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick has realised his mistakes and feels that he can overcome them.
Although Eagles won the game with a one-point margin, there were many flaws in their overall performance and Vick, in particular, was pathetic. He did score the game-winning touchdown in the final quarter, but his accuracy and some decisions hurt the offence during the game.
As the Eagles prepare to face Baltimore Ravens this Sunday, they know that even if they repeat half of the mistakes they committed against Browns, they stand no chance of outscoring the Ravens.
Vick is aware of his mistakes and hopes to overcome them. According to the details present on the team’s website, the quarterback said:
“The good thing about is that we know the mistakes we made. I know the mistakes that I made and I know they can be corrected. You just have to be patient with this game. You can't become impatient. You can't try to press too hard. You can't try to rush things. You've got to let it happen."
Nearly half of Vick’s passes were incomplete as he was 29-of-56 against Browns. He also sent four interceptions.
The veteran has watched the game film and he is hopeful not to commit such errors again. Earlier, head coach Andy Reid also backed him and hoped that the quarterback would display much better performance against Ravens, who have a very strong defence.
As he vowed to display better game-play against Ravens, Vick said:
"I'm the one that's got to deal with it and go out there and make it right. Nobody has to motivate me. I motivate myself. I watched the film. I'm the one who lived it."
Eagles underwent a successful offseason as they remained undefeated in all four preseason games. Many experts believe that they will win the National Football Conference (NFC) East this year and might also get a shot at Super Bowl. However, the performance they have displayed in the season opener contradicts the prediction despite the Eagles victory. The Eagles must be a changed unit, especially on offence, to defeat the Ravens.
