Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick looking forward to Week 3 game – NFL News
Philadelphia Eagles are surprisingly leading the National Football Conference (NFC) East and they could further strengthen their edge over other teams of the division if they beat Arizona Cardinals in Week 3 game.
Eagles have won their first two games, beating Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Ravens, and are now building on their confidence.
Eagles quarterback Michael Vick is hopeful of displaying even better performance against Cardinals, who, just like Eagles, have won their first two games of the season.
However, both sides know that they need to address many issues as they prepare to face each other. As far as Eagles are concerned, they need to step up their performance on the offence, and Vick, especially, needs to be accurate to keep that winning run
going.
Vick has not been able to control his interceptions during the first two games and it is hard to assume how long he can lead the team to victories without controlling his passes.
Overall, the Eagles played better game against Ravens as compared to their Week 1 encounter against Browns, but the offence faces a serious challenge against the Cards, who have so far done well to block their opponents’ offence.
Vick has acknowledged that Cardinals have much better defence that can give Eagles tough time this Sunday. According to the details present on the team’s website, he said:
"The Arizona defence is good and they pose a lot of different challenges. They have a great scheme and they do some different things that can create penetration on the offensive line. They have a great group of guys over there on the defensive side of the
ball. We just have to make sure that we take care of that and hopefully everything else will take care of itself."
Meanwhile, Vick has also appreciated performance of his offence against Ravens. Owing to injuries to some players, their backups had to make up for them and they did a fine job. Vick said:
“I think everybody was into the game, into the flow, and understood what was at stake. It was more of the reason that they came in and played as well as they did."
