Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick not bothered by media talks – NFL News
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick, who is yet to show his true class after first three games of the season, has said that he is not bothered by what is being said about him during media talks.
Vick’s lacklustre performance has drawn criticism for him, even though Eagles are 2-1 after three games and have a strong chance of leading the National Football Conference (NFC) East division.
Vick sent four interceptions in the season opener and two in the next game. Both games were won by Eagles. He did not send any interception in Eagles’ Week 3 loss, but his performance was not commendable either. His six interceptions after three games do
not depict his true class and the quarterback is well aware of it.
After the recent defeat, Eagles head coach Andy Reid was asked if he would continue to play with Vick as starter and the coach made it clear that Vick would be their starting quarterback, for now.
Many Eagles’ fans believe that media did not truly portray the comments made by Reid, who later had to clarify that there was no threat to Vick’s job.
Amid this entire scenario, Vick remained tight-lipped and he has still refrained from commenting on this matter, keeping his focus entirely on Week 4 game against defending Super Bowl champions New York Giants.
According to the details present on the team’s website, Vick said of Reid’s comments:
"I heard it, but I really don't pay attention to what's being said unless I've heard from coach himself. We talked about it and it's all about me going out and getting ready for this week against New York.”
The quarterback asserted that he does not want to get distracted by anything and wants to prepare well for the Giants. He said:
"It wasn't anything serious. We're in the position where we have to look forward to this week, we have to get ready for this game, that's what's most important. Outside distractions, we can't let that be a deterrent to this team. We try to move forward and
get ready for the next game."
Although the coach has denied replacing Vick, he could be forced to give a thought to backup quarterback Nick Foles if Vick keeps on struggling with his form.
