Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick suffers concussion – NFL News
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick got a concussion while playing against Dallas Cowboys during Week 10 game on Sunday.
While passing the ball Vick got a hit on his back from Cowboys linebacker Ernie Sims in the second quarter. He was unable to get up and taken to the locker room immediately.
Vick was 6 of 9 for 70 yards and one touchdown before leaving the field. Nothing has been announced yet about his recovery, and it is expected to be announced before Week 11 game against Washington Redskins.
Eagles head coach Andy Reid is waiting for Vick’s test results so that he can make further decisions.
Talking about Vick in the postgame press conference, he said:
"I was hoping he'd make it through without having a concussion, but that's where we sit right now with him. He's the quarterback, yeah, but he's hurting, I just have to see how he's doing."
Rookie quarterback Nick Foles replaced Vick; the crowd gave him a good response when he hit the ground. He was selected in the third round of this year’s draft.
In his debut game he completed 22 of 32 for 219 yards with a touchdown and an interception. He could not help his team to a win, though.
Reid seemed happy with the performance of Foles and said:
"For not having practiced at all with the first group there, I thought he came in and did some good things. He kept battling. He kept his eyes downfield. There were some positives there, but you can't have the turnovers.”
On the other hand, Foles did not seem satisfied with his performance, he said:
"Not good enough to win, I made some mistakes and I can't turn the ball over. That's the most important thing to win games."
He is not sure whether he will play against Redskins but he knows he has got to prepare himself for the upcoming games.
Eagles’ fans were really disappointed with Reid who has been with the team since 1999 and Vick who is a veteran, as the team has won three and lost six games this season and they are ranked 3rd in National Football Conference (NFC) East.
Some of the fans were holding signs against Reid which said “Fire Andy Reid!”
As four offensive linemen were out of the team, it was getting difficult for Vick to perform well with extra pressure. He did not give any comments on his injury after the game.
Vick’s performance has not been up to the mark this season and he has been disappointing his fans right from the beginning.
