Philadelphia Eagles’ quarterback Michael Vick to remain starter – NFL News
Philadelphia Eagles’ quarterback Michael Vick will remain starter after his comeback in the team.
Eagles’ coach Andy Reid informed about Vick’s position in the team after his return, while addressing a press conference recently.
He said:
"Well, we'll see how he does this week, but yes."
Reid did not confirm anything about Vick’s health and exact time of return. Vick is recovering from a concussion.
Vick was knocked out in the second quarter of Week 10 game against Dallas Cowboys, when he got a hit on his head. He missed Week 11 game against Washington Redskins.
Vick has not performed well in nine games he has played in this season. He has scored 11 touchdowns and nine interceptions, and completed 185 of 316 passes for 2,165 yards.
He helped his team to win three games out of nine. It is unknown whether he will be playing Monday Night Football against Carolina Panthers in Week 12 or not.
Eagles’ rookie quarterback Nick Foles replaced Vick in the last game against Redskins but did not perform well.
He was 21 of 46 for 204 yards and two interceptions for a 40.5 quarterback rating, and failed to throw any touchdown pass to his teammates in his first game as starter.
Talking about performance of Foles in Week 11 loss to Redskins (31-6), Reid said:
"I thought there were some good things that he did and then there are some things that he can definitely learn from. But he made a couple of nice throws, tight throws early that I thought were some pretty good plays. Again, there are some things that he
can work on. He's a young guy; a rookie, so there were a couple of rookie mistakes, but there were some positive things too."
Eagles’ offence is not performing well in this season. Running back LeSean McCoy has received 40 catches for 235 yards and scored three touchdowns, he has also scored two rushing touchdowns.
McCoy is also recovering from a concussion since Week 11 game against Redskins. Absence of McCoy in next game will affect Eagles’ offence.
Eagles are 3-7 and Panthers are 2-8, both stand last in National Football Conference (NFC) East and South respectively.
