Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick will start Week 17 game – NFL News
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick is going to start Week 17 game against New York Giants.
Eagles head coach Andy Reid announced on Monday about the availability of Vick for the next game.
According to Reid, Vick is an experienced player, who is excited about playing the game and will do a good job.
He said of Vick:
"You're talking about a pretty good quarterback here that has a lot of experience."
Eagles rookie quarterback Nick Foles started last six games, after Vick left the field due to a concussion during Week 10 game against Dallas Cowboys.
Recently, Foles got a hairline fracture in his hand during second quarter of Week 16 loss against Washington Redskins, thus giving Vick the last chance to perform in the season.
Foles has so far completed 161 of 265 passes for 1,699 yards and scored six touchdowns with five interceptions in his rookie season.
He led his team to a victory against Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 14 game.
Being a veteran, Vick’s performance was not that good. He led the Eagles towards three victories in the beginning of the season.
He has scored 185 of 316 passes for 2,165 yards with 11 touchdowns and nine interceptions.
The veteran quarterback said:
“The thing I want to do is improve. Whatever happens next year happens. I'm just going to be a guy who, wherever I'm at, I'm going to make the team better."
Vick is preparing to play well and hoping to improve against Giants, he said:
"I'm just grateful to have the opportunity to play again. I plan on taking advantage of it."
He is quite excited about playing a game after a long time, despite bad record of Eagles in the season.
He said:
"I'm excited about it, I love the game of football. I love playing football. Regardless of our record, I'm excited to be out there. I'm not going out to audition for a job. I'm going out to try and win."
Eagles have won four and lost 11 games, and they are standing dead last in National Football Conference (NFC) East.
