Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nick Foles hopes to further improve – NFL News
Quarterback change has not helped the Philadelphia Eagles, who are currently on a seven-game losing streak.
After starting the season with veteran Michael Vick, the Eagles turned to rookie Nick Foles when the former got injured.
Coming off an impressive preseason performance, Foles had been expected to do well, but he has so far failed in taking the team out of the slump.
After replacing Vick during Week 10 game against Dallas Cowboys, Foles has started the next two games and will remain starter as long as Vick is not completely fit. In total, the rookie has completed 59 of his 99 passes for 542 yards while scoring one touchdown
and throwing three interceptions.
When the Eagles lost the game against Dallas, Foles had expressed ambitions of doing well in the next game.
In Week 11 game against Washington Redskins, Foles was 21 of 46 for 204 yards and sent two interceptions, failing to prevent a defeat after which he once again vowed to do better.
In the Eagles’ recent loss that came against Carolina Panthers, Foles was 16 of 21 for 119 yards and did not score any touchdown while successfully avoiding interceptions.
As far as accuracy is concerned, Foles has certainly shown improvement, but the results are not coming in his team’s favour and that is why he has also been brought under the line of fire.
According to the details present on Eagles’ website, Foles expressed satisfaction over the areas where he has improved, but maintained that there is still a lot to learn for him. The rookie quarterback said:
“I felt like I improved on certain things. Still a lot to improve on. I made some miscues and there were some little things. I'm pretty hard on myself so we didn't get the win and we need to get more points.”
He added:
“But I felt like I improved and I'll continue to improve. There's a lot to learn from this one as well. As in any game plan, there's always a lot to learn from so I just have to take what I learned from it and become a better player and help make the guys
around me better players."
Eagles will play their next game against Cowboys.
