Philadelphia Eagles rookie quarterback Nick Foles admits failures, hopes to bounce back – NFL News
Philadelphia Eagles rookie quarterback Nick Foles, who could not make his first National Football League (NFL) start as memorable as he had wanted, has admitted his failures, hoping that he will bounce back in the next game.
Foles, who had made his NFL debut in Week 10 when veteran quarterback Michael Vick was injured, got his first opportunity to start a game in Week 11.
However, he could not help his team and the offence, yet again, failed to perform well. As a result, Eagles got a defeat against Washington Redskins.
At present, Eagles’ current losing streak is six games and they are placed at the bottom of National Football Conference (NFC) East with only three wins in 10 games.
Before the game, Foles had hoped to end the team’s losing streak which was five games then. However, his ambitions were crushed as the Redskins completely dominated the Eagles.
According to the details present on the team’s website, Foles said after the defeat:
"You always visualise the positives. Before games, you visualise what you've studied all week, what you've done in practice, just the feel for the game. Sometimes, things don't happen that way. Today was a rough game. I didn't play well at all. I need to
do a lot of things better. I'm a guy who's going to take this stuff and I'm going to learn from it.”
It was Foles’ second defeat of his career. After replacing Vick in Week 10, he played well but could not secure a victory. In his first start he got another defeat and now the rookie is planning something to get first win of his career.
The rookie has maintained that he is going to study the films and identify areas for improvement. Despite the defeat, Foles is not letting his morale go down and hopes to bounce back strongly in the next game. He said:
“That's just how I am as a person. It was a rough game, but I'm going to take the positive out and make stuff better."
Eagles have six more games left in the regular season.
