Philadelphia Eagles rookie quarterback Nick Foles feeling comfortable – NFL News
Philadelphia Eagles rookie quarterback Nick Foles, who is going to start Week 11 game against Washington Redskins owing to absence of Michael Vick, has said that he is feeling comfortable after a week’s practice.
Foles made his National Football League (NFL) debut in Week 10 game against Dallas Cowboys during which Vick got a concussion.
The veteran quarterback was unable to practise this week as he continued suffering from concussion symptoms and was eventually ruled out for Week 11 game.
Meanwhile, Foles kept on taking the first-team reps during practice. Since Vick is now officially out, it is certain that Foles will make his first NFL start this Sunday.
Foles practised on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and said that he was feeling comfortable with the idea of starting the game.
According to the details present on the team’s website, Foles did admit that he was a little nervous. The rookie quarterback said:
"Right now I feel comfortable. Come game day I don't know what it's going to be like because I've never experienced that, but I assume that there will be butterflies and nerves. But I'm going to keep working hard, keep studying the playbook; keep watching
film. The more you know about something, the more the nerves go down, so just preparation. Keep working until game day."
Foles still has a couple of days to prepare himself for his first NFL start. He has maintained that he will continue to learn the playbook prior to the game and try to give his best shot to lead his team to a victory.
A win for Eagles will be refreshing as they are already in a mess. They are presently on a long losing streak with offence and defence unable to live up to the expectations.
The fans are disappointed and furious over the team’s effort and they, too, welcomed arrival of the rookie on the field when Vick left it against Dallas.
Foles is hopeful that he will be able to overcome his nervousness in the game. He said:
“You're going to get nerves, but the second the ball is snapped, the second you're in it, they go away and you just play.”
