Philadelphia Eagles rookie running back Bryce Brown gears up for another start – NFL News
After a thundering performance that was marred by fumbles during Week 12 game against Carolina Panthers, Philadelphia Eagles rookie running back Bryce Brown is ready to make another National Football League (NFL) start as his team prepares to face the Dallas
Cowboys this Sunday.
Brown gained 178 yards on 19 carries while scoring two touchdowns, but his two fumbles proved very costly for the team and hence he could not save the team from its seventh straight defeat of the season.
Brown was able to get the starting role because LeSean McCoy was out with concussion and the latter might not be able to play this Sunday’s game as well.
In McCoy’s absence, Brown will start the game, but he has to control his fumbles to secure a much-needed win for the Eagles.
According to the details present on the team’s website, Brown said of his performance:
"Fumbling is not a habit that I have. It's not something that I normally do. I just have to be cautious and be more careful. It's football. Things are going to happen. Just go in this week and know that guys are going to be after the ball this game."
Eagles’ offensive line is seemingly very weak. Veteran quarterback Michael Vick is out with concussion and McCoy is dealing with the same problem. Furthermore, their star wide receiver DeSean Jackson is also out with an injury.
In absence of these players, youngsters are given an opportunity to prove their talent and if players like Brown and Nick Foles (Vick’s replacement) impress the team management they can secure long-term prospects with the franchise.
The Eagles are expected to make some roster adjustments following this season which they are expected to end on a dismal note.
Brown has already faced the Cowboys once this season and hoping to emerge victorious as the two sides face each other again. He said:
"My approach to the game is the same. Work hard this week. Do the things you're supposed to do. Get in that playbook. Learn as much as I can about Dallas and get ready to go."
