Philadelphia Eagles set to host New York Jets – NFL Week 15 Preview
With only three more games left in the regular season of the National Football League, every team wants a glorious exit. That, however, is not possible because one team has to lose in the end. So, it is safe to assume that the
most determined teams, having true character and are exceptionally well prepared to rattle the opponents will likely achieve the milestone.
The Lincoln Financial Field will witness a test of all the said qualities on Sunday as Philadelphia Eagles prepare to host New York Jets for the week-15 game on Sunday.
It is a high-stake game where the loser will hurt its chances of reaching the postseason. A defeat for the Eagles, who are miraculously still in the competition, will virtually eliminate them from the playoff race. On the other
hand, the Jets might not be sent packing if they lose as they carry a three-game winning streak at their back with much better record than the Eagles.
Last week, the Eagles defeated Miami Dolphins on the latter’s home-field. Eagles’ fans who travelled to see the team winning were jubilant and expected more good results from the team. The players were also fascinated by the support
on an away-game and utilised the fan-support to its best.
Eagles’ coach Andy Reid was also pleased to see the crowd and pledged to cheer them up again this week. He said on Friday that the team has prepared well and the players will give their best shot against the Jets.
"I’m sure you saw that down in Miami the number of fans there was tremendous. The number was astronomical and I think they outnumbered the Dolphins fans," he said. "We appreciate the support and we’re busting our tails to make
sure we represent the fans and the city in the right way. The guys have had a good week of preparation to go out and make sure we’ll play well."
The Jets are ranked second in the American Football Conference East division. They have eight victories and five defeats to their credit. The division is dominated by New England Patriots and the only way through which the Jets
can reach the playoffs is a wildcard entry.
Although the Jets have found their winning ways recently, their overall performance in the season could not meet the expectations set before the start. Jets Coach Rex Ryan acknowledges that the team has failed a few times, but
has no doubts on the abilities of his players.
“You can’t stay the same or anything else. We have to get better. So that’s our mentality, that’s our mindset. Do I think we’re a playoff team? I absolutely do, but we have work to do,” he said.
Both the teams have one home and one away game each after this encounter.
