Philadelphia Eagles vs Miami Dolphins – NFL Week 14: Preview
The Philadelphia Eagles have managed just four wins out of the twelve games they have played so far this season. This situation has put them in a desperate position for over a month. They need to win in order to keep bright their
chances of post season.
They would need a lot of courage to recover from their last embarrassing 31-14 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Following that loss, they now stand tied at the bottom of NFC East with the Washington Redskins. Their hopes of playoff
are now subject to the condition that they win all the next four games. Even then the Eagles will not make it unless Dallas go down 1-3 and the New York Giants 2-4. It is a hectic task they need to accomplish especially after having faced two straight defeats.
The good news out for the Eagles is that their quarterback Michael Vick may return to the team after having been sidelined for three games due to rib injury. The Eagles fared poorly in his absence losing two of the three games
which Vick missed.
"I'll definitely be out there. I feel like I've got to be accountable for my team. I want to be there. It's a desperation last four games.” Vick said.
The Miami Dolphins on the other hand have won the last three games played at their home. Though the Eagles have come out victorious in three of the last four encounters between the two sides, the Dolphins have improved a lot recently
and would pose a considerable challenge. They have won the last four of five games scoring 139 points and allowing only 54 points to be scored against them.
The Dolphins under Reggie Bush rushed for 209 yards in their last game beating the Oakland Raiders 34-14 proving to be one of the best rushing sides in NFL. Matt Moore has scored eight touchdowns in five games while completing
about 65 percent of the passes. The Eagles defence looks bleak and vulnerable to Miami attack. The Eagles have had 12 interceptions in the last five games. The poor performance by Eagles defence in the last game has exposed their weak point.
The Eagles can rely on LeSean McCoy when it comes to rushing. The running back has 1,134 yards in rushing being ranked the second in NFL. His touchdown count is even better as he stands the number one in NFL with 15 scores. However,
with Miami things may turn out to be a bit different. The Miami defence is strong allowing only about 93 yards in a game. With Paul Soliai and Randy Starks out there for the Miami, McCoy will surely have a hard time. The Dolphins have not conceded more than
20 points in their last seven games.
The last meeting between the two sides was back in 2007 which the Eagles won 17-7.
