Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson moved to injured reserve – NFL News
Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson was moved to injured reserve on Tuesday, due to multiple rib injury.
During Week 12 game against Carolina Panthers, he left the ground when his ribs got fractured in first half.
After getting his CT scan result on Tuesday, Eagles head coach Andy Reid announced that the player was moved to injured reserve.
This injury has ended his season. He has got 45 catches for 700 yards with two touchdowns
Jackson has missed only four games in his five-year career. His 274 career receptions are the most by any Eagle in his first five seasons.
Eagles are not in form from the start of the season, the quantity of injured players is also increasing day by day.
Eagles’ most important player, quarterback Michael Vick, is out as he is recovering from concussion. He has missed last two games and his return timeline has not been confirmed yet.
Rookie quarterback Nick Foles replaced Vick but he did not perform well against Washington Redskins and Carolina Panthers.
Both quarterbacks could not help their team to win more than three games due to their poor performances. Jackson’s performance level also suffered because of them.
Meanwhile, Eagles running back LeSean McCoy also got concussion during Week 11 game against Redskins. He has rushed 40 times for 235 yards and scored three touchdowns.
Reid is completely disturbed after losing last seven games in a row. There are rumours that he will be fired after this season.
Recently, Eagles released their defensive end Jason Babin because being a veteran player he also did not perform well throughout the season, getting only 5.5 sacks.
Reid said of Babin:
"We appreciate everything that Jason has given this team over the last couple of years. We wish him all the best as he continues his career. By releasing him today, this gives us an opportunity to give more playing time to some of the younger guys in the
defensive line rotation."
At 3-8, Eagles stand last in National Football Conference (NFC) East.
