Philadelphia Flyers' UFA Jaromir Jagr unsure about return, again -NHL offseason Update
Jaromir Jagr sounded excited to test the free agency after the veteran forward was set to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1, 2012, following a tussle with Philadelphia Flyers, but now as of the latest, he is unsure about even playing anymore, again.
Talking to the media on Wednesday, just less than three days before the free agency officially kicks off, Jaromir Jagr expressed his reservations in playing another season despite having a wonderful performance last time around.
The veteran right winger made a comeback into the league nearly three years after his last game in the North American league with Philadelphia Flyers and wanted to test whether he was still NHL material or not.
With 54 points (19 goals, 35 assists) in 73 games, Jaromir Jagr certainly proved he was more than worthy of playing in the NHL but after Philadelphia Flyers hinting at not wanting to re-sign him, it seems Czech Republic native is reconsidering his options.
For now, Jagr just does not have an answer to the question about where fans could see him playing next season as he has left it up to his agent.
"Last year I thought there were three possibilities - Detroit, Pittsburgh and Montreal. And then, because (Flyers right wing) Jakub Voracek has the same agent as me (Petr Svoboda), my agent was asked by the Flyers, 'What about Jagr?' And you see, finally,
I went to Philly. So you never know," Jagr said while talking to a local Czech Republic newspaper last week.
Without a doubt, Jagr is a burden on any teams salary cap space. He made a cool $3.3 million with Philadelphia Flyers and will definitely be looking to get more this time around. For Jagr, it seems like this may be the end of the line, but fans are counting
on him to spend at least another season in the league.
Updates on the Jaromir Jagr and his situation with the Philadelphia Flyers and upcoming free agency should be expected in the upcoming days when teams look at their options and such. Philadelphia just might be waiting for him to test the agency before making
an offer.
