Philadelphia Flyers hoping to repeat history against Boston Bruins – NHL playoffs

Philadelphia Flyers are in the same exact situation from 2010 where many said that the Flyers were most definitely out of the playoffs but they managed to win the last four games to win the series 4-3.
Things are exactly the same and it is a question of whether the Flyers wanted this or not. Either way, the Bruins have played exceptionally well in the series so far and the last game witnessed them winning 5-1 in the end to take a 3-0 lead in the series
and be only one win away from knocking out the Flyers.
This puts the Flyers in the same position as last time from where they became only the third team to make their way back to win the series after being down 3-0. The question that comes in the minds of many following the National Hockey League is that whether
or not the Flyers have what it takes to defeat the Bruins.
The Bruins are certainly more focused, hard working and desperate for winning amongst the two teams currently and it seems unrealistic that the Flyers could pull off the miracle once again.
“I'll throw a whole bunch clichés at you -- one game at a time, one day at a time, one period at a time, but that's really all we can think about,” defenseman Sean O'Donnell said. “We can't think about winning four in row. We can't think of any of that stuff.
We just have to come and play the way we know we can and keep getting traffic and win a period and hopefully win a game. Get to Game 5 … that's all we can do right now.”
This is the seventh time in the history of the Flyers that they face the situation of being 3-0 down in a postseason series. However, one thing that they would not want to look is history as they have won only once. But the inspiring thing would be the fact
that their lone win came against the Boston Bruins in 2010.
The Bruins have a very strong chance of knocking the Flyers out as game four provides them with an opportunity of winning the series with a clean sweep and that too on home ice at the TD Garden. The Flyers go into the game facing the possibility of elimination
maintaining a record of 30-34 in games where they have faced the fear of exit if they do not win.
Coming up with a special performance is certainly what the Flyers can do but doing it against the current Bruins team seems very unlikely. All the departments in the Bruins squad at the moment are clicking as they are in the best of shapes.
They provide the physical edge to the team and they have been productive. What the Flyers need to do is control the pace of the game, score goals and restrict the Bruins offence. This again seems unlikely to happen as the Bruins just are unstoppable at the
moment.
The Flyers were hoping that Jeff Carter would put in a strong performance and he certainly did. Although it did not match the standards that he sets for himself but considering the fact that he returned after game 4 against the Sabres is remarkable.
Still the Flyers fell short as they lost and now they have a very daunting task of winning the next four games. What might help the Flyers is one-game-at-a-time approach and not think about the four consecutive wins they need.
