Philadelphia Flyers looking to level series against New Jersey Devils -NHL Playoffs Game 4 Preview
While Philadelphia Flyers are aiming to level the series, New Jersey Devils are just too confident going into Game 4 of the 2012 National Hockey League (NHL) Stanley Cup Eastern Conference Playoff Semi-Final series and could be putting Flyers on the verge
of elimination.
New Jersey Devils barely gave up the opening match and that too in overtime as Philadelphia took the first of the series 4-3 in overtime, but Flyers could not have ever imagined what was about to come next.
Devils took charge by dominating Philadelphia, 4-1, in Game 2 while they took a 2-1 series lead after an overtime victory of their own in the next.
“I think we’re in a great position being home for one more game and having a 2-1 lead. But, at the same time, we all know what we have to do. If we take just a little off our game we can see how dangerous they are. The series can be turned around and all
of a sudden you doubt yourself again,” Devils’ centre Patrik Elias said on Friday.
Martin Brodeur and the Devils offensive side might have been the factors for New Jersey’s win, but players have come to realise that having a great coaching staff has also made a huge impact on their playing.
“It definitely comes from the coaching staff. You have to give them credit for putting us at ease and not feeling embarrassed. It’s not like somebody is talking about you. That line of communication is tremendous. As long as I’ve been in the organization,
this is as good as I’ve seen it,” Brodeur said.
New Jersey Devils head coach, Peter DeBoer, is committed to continue winning and frankly, it seems like he has found a way of doing so without stressing out his team. Having a healthy line-up with Ilya Kovalchuk back on the squad and ready to roll, it seems
like there is no way Philadelphia will win Game 4 and probably the series.
Game 4 kicks off on Sunday, May 6, 2012, at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, and is sure to be an exciting contest between Devils and Flyers.
