Philadelphia Flyers of NHL retain Trenton Titans of East Coast Hockey League as their affiliates
Philadelphia Flyers, a professional hockey team that plays in the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference of the National Hockey League (NHL) has renewed the partnership and reached a deal with Trenton Titans of the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) to
retain them as their affiliates.
Trenton Titans, which play in the minor league, have always been affiliates of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania based side ever since they were founded in the year 1999. Since then, it has been working as a part of Flyers’ organisation and grooming Flyers’ prospects
by giving them playing time and exposure.
The announcement was made by Trenton Titans on 30th July when they announced it via their official website, trentontitanshockey.com that they are very happy to reach an agreement with Philadelphia Flyers and would be working as their affiliates
once again.
Paul Holmgren, the general manager of Philadelphia Flyers, happily announced the partnership and is looking forward to working with them and developing their future players as he said,
“We are pleased to have The Trenton Titans as our ECHL affiliate and look forward to working closely with them on developing future Flyers in a winning environment”.
Rich Lisk, President and CEO of Trenton Titans was also overjoyed as he said that he is thrilled to be back with Flyers and would be looking forward to have a strong relationship which would go to next level. He also called his organisation- home of future
Philadelphia Flyers’ players as he said,
“We are thrilled to be back with the Flyers as their ECHL affiliate. Our relationship has always been strong with the Flyers and we look forward to taking that to the next level. I am happy to call Trenton – the Home of Future Philadelphia Flyers.”
According to the deal, Titans will be serving as affiliates of Flyers in the ECHL and they will be assigned the players, which would be under the contract of Philadelphia Flyers and Flyers’ American Hockey League (AHL) affiliates Adirondack Phantoms. Whereas
they can also call for players under Titans contract to play for Adirondack Phantoms.
There were seven players last season which played for Trenton Titans, as well as Adirondack Phantoms, two of the most prominent names being Andy Bohmbach and Rob Bordson.
