Philadelphia Flyers plays host to Atlanta Thrashers in their fourth and final meeting – NHL Previews

Philadelphia Flyers will be hosting Atlanta Thrashers in one of Thursday’s games. This will be the fourth and final meeting between the two teams during the course of the season.
Out of the three games that have already taken place, Flyers won the first game, 5-2, comfortably while Thrashers has won the last two games.
The second-last game between the two teams took place on the 17th of March which saw the game level on 3-3 at the end of regulation time. There were no goals in overtime but Thrashers won the game by 4-3 after a shootout.
Flyers was in a comfortable position the last time these two met leading 3-0 but blew it away only for Thrashers to win it in the end.
However, things haven’t been the same for Thrashers after the win as it has faced quite a slump in its form. Thrashers need to win each and every one of its remaining games if it wants to keep hopes of making it into the playoff’s cut alive.
On the other hand, Flyers has seen its lead shrink to three points at the top of the Eastern Conference and will be looking to score the important two points to not only move ahead of Washington Capitals but also Pittsburgh Penguins for the Atlantic Division
title.
The last game for Flyers saw it up against Penguins which it won by 5-2 to cement a strong hold in the Division and the East.
"We've done a good job for the most part responding when our backs are against the wall and coming out with good efforts", Flyers’ defenseman, Sean O'Donnell, said. "I just wish sometimes we didn't wait until our backs are against the wall”.
"That showed a lot of character in this team. We got down 2-1. It's a big rivalry with these guys. We were able to battle back, get a couple bounces and pull out a nice win".
Flyers has played 76 games during the course of the season out of which it has won 46 games in regulation time and 10 games in overtime to score a total of 102 points.
Thrashers has played 76 games during the season out of which it won 32 games in regulation time and 12 games in overtime to score a total of 76 points.
Thrashers still has a chance of making its way into the playoffs by piling up some decent results and hoping that the teams above it come up with a few slip ups in the last few games.
"You try to focus on each individual game, but there is no question in your mind that players have to show you something", Ramsay said. "They have to show you their commitment to the team. They have to show you their commitment to battle and go in and do
the things they are supposed to do. It isn't about doing these things individually, it's about doing them as part of the group".
The game will be very close and entertaining as both teams will be looking to score two important points with one team looking to move in the playoff’s cut while the other is hoping to win the conference.
