Florida Panthers played host to Philadelphia Flyers at the Bank Atlantic Arena in another game of Tuesday.
The game was important for Flyers who were looking to win a game after a disappointing recent run while Panthers looked to notch up some important points as they still had an outside chance of making it into the playoff cut.
Flyers made a decent start which saw them scoring the opening goal. Panthers managed to score twice in the period later to lead 2-1 as the teams went into the break.
The second period saw Flyers coming up with a decent effort which saw them scoring early in the period to level the scores. Flyers managed to score once again later in the period to get into the lead.
The period ended and there were no goals in the final period.
Flyers won the game 3-2 in the end.
Jeff Carter of Flyers was named the star of the game as he scored two goals during the course of the game.
Both teams made a decent start to the game which saw them coming up with shots on goal. Flyers were able to score in the fifth minute through Scott Hartnell to get into the lead.
Panthers managed to come up with some decent plays of their own which saw them creating quite a few scoring chances.
Panthers didn’t take long and scored in the 8th minute through Stephen Weiss to level the scores. Both teams came up with shots and the chances kept on coming for both teams.
Panthers completed the comeback and scored once again in the 19th minute to get into the lead. The goal was scored by Dmitry Kulikov’s powerful strike.
The period ended with Panthers leading 2-1 as they made 7 shots on goal while Flyers made 9 shots on goal.
Flyers came out strong in the second period which resulted in them scoring in the fifth minute through Jeff Carter to level the scores.
Flyers continued to pile pressure and managed to score once again in the 16th minute to get into the lead. Carter was the goal scorer once again who scored from a well placed flick shot.
The period ended with Flyers leading 3-2 while Panthers made 8 shots on goal in the period and Flyers made 18 shots on goal.
The final period saw Flyers making 4 shots on goal while Panthers made 7 shots on goal but none of these shots found the back of the net. Hence, Flyers won the game 3-2 in the end.
