Philadelphia Flyers wins 4-1 against the Edmonton Oilers to end their losing streak with a brilliant performance

Philadelphia Flyers hosted Edmonton Oilers at the Wells Fargo Center this Tuesday.
The game was important for Flyers as they lost their last four consecutive games and needed a win to gain confidence as the play-offs were about a month away.
Flyers made a flying start to the game which saw them scoring twice during the course of the first period.
Oilers managed to score a goal in the second period but it was all that they could manage. The final period ended with Flyers scoring once again to win the game 4-1 in the end.
Jeff Carter of Flyers was named the star of the game as he scored twice during the course of the game.
Flyers made a great start to the game which saw their offence dominate the proceedings up front while their defence didn’t give Oilers any space to work. Couple with this was the fact they were in good shape and read the game very well.
Flyers managed to score in the 9th minute through Danny Briere from a well placed shot to get into the lead.
Flyers continued to dominate the game and the shots kept on coming. Flyers managed to double their lead with another goal in the in the 18th minute.
The goal was scored by Jeff Carter during power play from a brilliant flick shot in the 18th minute.
Flyers were on top during the course of the period and the shots kept on coming from them till the very end of the period.
However, there were no further goals as the period ended with Flyers leading 2-0. During the course of the period, Flyers made 17 shots on goal while Oilers made a single shot on goal.
The second period saw the come up with a better performance when it came to the department of offence.
The away side was looking good but once again it was Flyers who scored in the 8th minute. The goal was scored by Jeff Carter once again from a well placed flick shot.
Oilers were able to respond this time and scored in the 9th minute through Jean-Francois Jacques to cut the lead to two goals.
The period saw Oilers coming up with a few more shots on goal but no further goals were scored as the period ended with Flyers leading 3-1. During the period, Flyers made 5 shots on goal while Oilers made 11 shots on goal.
The final period was a reflection of the second period where Oilers came up with 13 shots on goal while Flyers made 5 goal attempts.
However, during the final period Flyers scored the only goal with Blair Betts scoring from a flick shot to win the game 4-1 in the end of Flyers.
