Philadelphia Phillies’ ace Roy Halladay to be activated from Disabled List on Tuesday-MLB
On Sunday, it has been declared by the Philadelphia Phillies that their ace Roy Halladay will be starting on Tuesday against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Suffering with a strained right lat muscle, he has recovered completely now. With this, his stint on the
disabled list comes to an end.
Halladay has taken proper time for rehabilitation. He has observed no hurry in making a comeback, despite the fact the Phillies needed him immensely. Furthermore, he has gone through simulated games and bullpen sessions until he felt really great with his
arms.
As regard to his start on Tuesday, the decision has been taken after the team officials oversaw Halladay throwing a bullpen session on Saturday. His arms are moving fine and the throws are hitting the right spot in the strike-zone.
Meanwhile, Halladay understands that his team is standing miserably on the table currently, with most of the clubs in the Division ahead of the Phillies. The time that he missed out on in the season has not been good for the Phillies. His absence has been
felt thoroughly by the club.
Therefore, the kind of career record he boasts, one can easily point out that his presence on the rotation will have helped the Phillies win the games, which they actually lost, thanks to unimpressive innings thrown by their starters.
Now as he has come back, the Phillies will want him to lead them to victories and become a source of consolation at a time when most of their pitchers have cost them defeats.
Although reaching the top position on the table from now onward may seem impossible, at-best they are wishing to sign off the season on a positive note. In this regard, Halladay can play a major role.
The fact he is capable of throwing shut-out games on regular basis, the Phillies have the reasons to count on him, for witnessing an improved performance in the second half of the season.
Not only do the Phillies need his consistent performances, Halladay owes compensation to himself for poor shows he put up before getting injured in the season. A splendid career record by him which was maligned after his subpar numbers can be restored with
better shows on the mound now.
One can believe that this will not be lost on Halladay. Therefore, as soon as he throws the first game after the injury, he will display his real mastery as a starting pitcher.
