Philadelphia Phillies lose to Los Angeles Dodgers 1-6 – MLB news
Philadelphia Phillies defeated by the Los Angeles Dodgers 1-6 in the fourth game of their four-match regular series encounter on June 30 at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.
Dodgers’ played wonderfully throughout the game and won the game in style. Their entire team played as one unit and fought well against the top Phillies pitching lineup.
“Puig's definitely brought an energy and a spark to us, and his skill level, I think, is a little more than anybody anticipated it would be, Ever since he first got here, I've had a lot of friends and family ask me: 'Hey, what's it like?' And I just say:
'Keep watching, because it's going to be historic.' And as it's turned out, it's been a pretty historic start,” Fife said after the game.
Starting pitcher Stephen Fife pitched seven top class innings and allowed only four hits with no run. He struck out five while he remained calm on his consistent 2.83 ERA.
Relief pitcher Chris Withrow also did well on the mound and pitched 0.2 innings and allowed two hits and one run only. He also allowed one earned and struck out one Phillies’ hitter.
“Obviously, the league is going to start to make adjustments when they start figuring out what counts and what pitches he may struggle with or have less success with,” Philadelphia's Jimmy Rollins said.
On the other hand, the Phillies pitchers did not perform well and lost the game in the end. They pitched too many loose deliveries and received heavy hits.
Starting pitcher Kyle Kendrick pitched six innings and received ten hits and allowed four runs. He also allowed four earned runs and struck out only two Dodgers hitters on 3.59 ERA.
Relief pitcher Phillippe Aumont pitched one inning and allowed only one hit on his 3.18 ERA. He was the only pitcher from the Phillies pitching line-up who played relatively well and remained calm on the mound.
Later closing pitcher Jacob Diekman came to pitch but he also could not stop the Dodgers’ hitters heavy hammering. He allowed two runs on three hits on 4.76 ERA.
