Michael Farfan scored the winning goal for Philadelphia Union in the 3-2 win over http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/DC-United-c38901 at PPL Park on Thursday, September 29. The midfielder also assisted Sebastien Le Toux complete his brace in the first half.
The player had not seen much time in the first half of the current Major League Soccer season, but he has played a decisive role whenever given the opportunity. The player has been in rich vein of form of late, registering one goal and two assists in the
last four matches.
Talking about Farfan, Union stopper Sheanon Williams said:
“Mike is just sick. He’s a great player. And every time we have him on the field, I’m excited. He can do pretty much everything.”
In addition to the knack for scoring goals, the attacking midfielder has also displayed marvellous dribbling skills. Farfan has shown a wide array of ball-handling techniques in his maiden year and is still improving.

The player has also been deployed at the back by head coach Peter Nowak in a makeshift defence, with his twin brother, Gabriel Farfan. Michael started in his brother’s place on the left-back spot, but he was responsible for the second DCU goal.
Nowak later deployed him in an advanced position to strengthen the attack. The player redeemed himself 12 minutes into the second half, scoring a gem of a goal. He beat the defence, dribbled into wide space and fired a bullet of a shot from 20 yards out
to seal the match at 3-2.
The latest game had enormous implications on the playoffs’ standings. Had the United registered a win, they would have leapfrogged New York Red Bulls into the last postseason qualifying berth.
However, after the win, the Zolos are now 2nd in the Eastern Conference with 43 points, closely following Sporting Kansas City who sit atop the standings.
