CD http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chivas-USA-c38798 have lost yet another game away from home, extending their string of winless fixtures to three. The Goats could not manage a single point at PPL Stadium against Philadelphia Union on Saturday, June 25.
The head coach, Robin Fraser, was direct in explaining his team’s 3-2 loss to the Union.
“Its concentration,” Fraser told the media on Tuesday. “Players need to concentrate for 90 minutes and then collectively, we have to do that as well. But it starts with individually. We have to be able to concentrate.”
The relatively young Goats held an early lead with a tally from left-back Michael Umana half-way into the game, but could not hold onto the lead and conceded three untimely goals.
Chivas’ Veljko Paunovic scored in the 48th minute and Carlos Ruiz added another 21 minutes later.
Although http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Danny-Mwanga-c10216, sealed the match in Philly’s favour.
The Goats showed a lack of concentration throughout the game, as the head coach put it. The early lead could have resulted in three hard-fought points, but Union kept scoring after short intervals.
In addition, the midfield was totally ruled by the hosts throughout the 90-minute stretch. The Goats were struggling for possession at times and forays into the Union half were a far cry.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Justin-Mapp-c20150 outplayed the Chivas side and opened the game well. Mapp and Le Toux assisted the first and last of the Philadelphia goals respectively, as both players controlled the pace of the game with Chivas lagging
behind.
“That’s not the way that we want to play,” Braun told the media after the defeat. “We want to possess the ball and limit their chances. I think we got away from that and that’s why the game opened up.”
Even then there were some runs that would make Fraser proud of his boys. The second goal for the Goats was scored by Braun after marvellous play. The striker cut his way through the Union http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jorge-c19120 Flores’ brilliant through pass and slotted
home the equalizer.
However, Umana’s absence due to injury resulted in yet another score for the Zolos that took the match away from the Goats.
The defender, after scoring the opener, picked up a hamstring injury that forced him to the bench at half-time. The left-back put up a good show in front of the head coach, neutralizing Ruiz and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jack-McInerney-c17459 in the first half.
However, the player showed up for the training session on Tuesday and played to his potential despite the injury.
