The Bayern Munich skipper believes that Borussia Dortmund are a serious threat to his team’s title chances, but played down talks of Schalke or Gladbach winning the crown.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Philipp-Lahm-c29929 reckons that Bayern Munich are still the top contenders to win the Bundesliga crown this season despite slipping against Borussia Monchengladbach on Friday. He stated that Bayern made too many mistakes against the
Foals, and only have themselves to blame for the defeat.
The defender added that Borussia Dortmund are the only side which can push Bayern down to the wire in their title bid. He opined that both the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Royal-95-c40387 Blues and the Foals do not have the ability to fight till the very end, and therefore
this season’s Bundesliga will be a two-horse race.
Bayern made a poor start to this season’s second-half after losing to Lucien Favre’s men by a comprehensive 3-1 margin on Friday, January 20. Marco Reus and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Bastian-Schweinsteiger-c7374
earned a consolation for the depleted Reds.
While talking to sports magazine, Kicker, the full-back further mentioned:
"If I'm honest, I don't think Schalke or Gladbach will take it [the championship]. Dortmund have made a more stable impression."
When asked about Bayern’s inability to sign http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Marco-Reus-c23733 from the Borussia-Park, Lahm insisted that the Reds have always been looking to sign top players, and the competition for places is always tough. He stated that this situation
might have influenced Reus to opt in favour of Dortmund.
"For us, the competition for places will always be bigger, which could have influence Reus' decision. Bayern will always have a better squad and more quality than Dortmund." Lahm stressed.
On the other hand, the sweeper expressed his desire to lead his country to the European crown this year. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ukraine-c3032 will jointly host Euro 2012 this year in June and Die Mannschaft have been placed in Group B, alongside
the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Denmark-c2884.
"Anything other than winning it would be bad," Lahm concluded.
The German international added that he is looking forward to lift the European crown which the DFB-Eleven have not won since 1996.
