Philipp Lahm calls for Marco Reus’ arrival at Allianz-Arena- Bundesliga News
Bayern Munich skipper Philipp Lahm has become latest admirer of Marco Reus’ talent and wants to welcome him at Allianz-Arena. Lahm has stood by his chairman’s remarks who earlier called for Reus’ transfer after manager Jupp Heynckes declined reports of any
interest in the German’s acquisition.
Reus has had an outstanding 2011/12 campaign so far and has already won praise from different outfits. The player has constantly been on Bayern’s radar and is likely to tie knots with them from next season onwards.
Munich manager Jupp Heynckes previously denied of interest in Borussia Monchengladbach’s striker, advising him to test his skills at a club like Borussia Dortmund. Heynckes is certainly one of the youngster’s admirers but warned him of lack of first team
opportunities at Bayern.
The manager reckoned that a player like Reus deserves to start every game but the situation at Bayern is a bit different. Reus would have to fight for places especially in the presence of inform strikers like Mario Gomez, Nils Petersen and fit again, Ivica
Olic.
Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, on the other hand, showed disagreement with Heynckes’ remarks. He admitted of club’s interest in the youngster and assured of his arrival, possibly the next year, in June.

Reus confirmed of Bayern’s interest but is undecided about his future at the club. He felt honoured after learning of an interest from the Bundesliga giants but is currently comfortable whit his stint at Borussia Park.
The striker has been doing exceedingly well this term and as a result has helped the Foals to seventh place on the table. Monchengladbach, who finished the 2010/11 season, 16th on the league table are currently in the middle of a purple patch.
Lucien Favre’s men have already defeated Bayern Munich this term and find themselves five points adrift of the current leaders.
