The Germany skipper wants his side to build on their performance against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Greece-c2908 and not to repeat the mistakes they made in their previous match.
The Germans so far have looked very solid, and have displayed impressive form. They were placed in relatively tough group, alongside http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Denmark-c2884. Despite being in a tough group they remained undefeated.
Joachim Low’s side all of their group B fixtures and knocked Holland out of the tournament, team which was tipped by many bookies to go all the way to clinch the European Champions’ title.
Die Mannschaft faced Greece in the quarter-finals and defeated them convincingly by a two goal margin. Their skipper however, is not getting carried away. In his opinion his side were impressive but they lacked the killer instinct
in several departments.
The Nationalelf won the game 4-2 but the score line does not tell the entire story. Joachim Low’s side should have won the match with a five or six goal margin. DFB eleven’s attackers were guilty of wasting several chances against
a team which hardly came out of its shell.
"We made it hard for ourselves unnecessarily. We had a lot of chances against a very defensive playing team already at the beginning. We did not score and that made it difficult,"
When they eventually scored, Lahm’s men lost focus and conceded within no time, they were caught on the break and Greece capitalised on some shabby defending. The Bayern Munich defender has urged his teammates to stay grounded
and improve their defending a bit.
"Then, when we finally got our goal, we did not pay attention and conceded. We made a lot of mistakes and we have to improve that," he is quoted as saying an interview.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 will have to be more clinical than they were on Friday; it took them a long time to break down a weak Greek side. Now Joachim Low’s side will face sides who can match their quality and stature.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 will play Die Mannschaft in the semi-finals, and if the Three Lions manage to get to the semis they will be looking to avenge their unfair elimination from the 2010 World Cup at the hands of Germany.
