Bayern Munich captain Philipp Lahm has insisted that Bayern Munich deserved to win against VfL Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga fixture played at Volkswagen Arena on Saturday. The captain claimed that his team was the far better side
amongst the two and was delighted to secure the club’s first league win of the season.

Lahm admitted that his side got off to a slow start in the match but recovered to show a brilliant performance after the interval. He stated that the players were full of confidence in the second-half and created a lot of chances
which is why Bayern deserved to win at the end.
“We got off to a slow start, but we clearly had the upper hand in the second half and created more scoring opportunities. So I think we deserved the win, even if it was a bit lucky in the end,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The German international insisted that the loss in the first match is always a hit to the confidence but a win is always good. He added that the three points in the match have definitely cheered the players and they will be more
confident and determined to perform against FC Zurich in a mid-week qualifying clash.
“Losing the first game certainly doesn't do much for your self-confidence. That made the win at Wolfsburg all the more important. Now we can go into the home (Champions League qualifying) game against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Zürich-c39253 in the right frame
of mind,” he concluded.
The Bavarian giants will face Swiss side FC Zurich on Wednesday in the first-leg of the Champions League play-off.
