game away. Former Schalke shot stopper, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Marco-Reus-c23733 just 11 minutes into the match, when his clearance went straight into the attacker’s path.
Lahm insisted that the Bavarians were unable to cope with the pressure of the early goal, and were dominated by the Foals due to their counter attacking abilities. He reckons that Bayern have only themselves to blame for this defeat,
but admitted that the Borussia-Park outfit was far better prepared for the game, and rightly deserved to win.
While talking to the official club website, the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 and Bayern skipper further stressed:
"We made too many mistakes and conceded unnecessary goals. And for this, you will be punished. In the second half we tried everything, but again ran into a purely counterattacking game.”
However, Lahm believes that Bayern’s major rivals are still Borussia Dortmund, who registered a massive 5-1 win over Hamburg on Sunday, January 22. The defender mentioned that the Borussians possess a huge threat for the Bavarians,
and the title race could run down to the wire with Dortmund in sublime form.
The full-back insisted that his team prepared well during the winter break but were unable to maintain momentum and composure in the opening game of the second phase.
"You can prepare well but there is always the danger of being caught out in the first game back [after the winter break]. We were unable to maintain our momentum. Our biggest enemy - besides ourselves - is still [third-placed
Borussia] Dortmund," Lahm concluded.
This was Bayern’s second successive defeat at the hands of the Foals this season, having previously been defeated at home in their opening game of the competition. As a result, Gladbach are just one point behind the current leaders,
