Philippine Badminton Association announces four badminton events to find talented shuttlers
The President of The Philippine Badminton Association, Mr. Jejomar Binay announced today that four badminton events will be held in different areas of the country for selecting talented players for the national squad. The ranking of the players in these
events will determine their future in this field. This important step is taken to promote and upgrade the level of badminton in the country.
The ranking system through these events will boost the chances of talented shuttlers from the whole country, as there will be no restriction to participate. The Philippine Olympic Committee encouraged this positive move for the promotion of Badminton in
the country. The official expressed their positive opinion for the tournaments and assured their support for making it possible.
Former Olympians including, Kennevic Asuncion and Kennie also appreciated this step and they are hopeful for the promotion of the game. These tournaments will be supported by different sponsors including Yonex-Sunrise and major media companies in the Philippines
will provide extensive coverage to the events.
The events will include all five events including men’s singles, women’s singles, men’s doubles, women’s doubles and mixed doubles. All of these categories will entertain under-15 and under-19 shuttlers from all corners of the country. All provinces of the
country will be participating in these events.
The tournament will provide a superb platform for the players to participate in these events and prove their worth to become a part of the national squad. Top standard training and coaching facilities will be provided to the deserving players who prove their
skills in these four events. The ranking system which will be based on these events will determine the right candidates for future training.
