Hi,I recently purchased a Philips DVP 5982 DVD player. I'm having no problems with playing DVD's or any other formats while using the DVD Disk section of this player. The problems seem to arise when using the USB port with my brand new Kingston 4gb thumb drive. It simply will not recognize that I plugged the thumb drive in about 90% of the time. Occasionally it recognizes it, then acts like nothing is connected after turning the player off (manually or automatically). I purchased the exact same Kingston thumb drive as friend of mine who uses it with no problems with this player. This thumb drive is recognized by all computers that I have tried, so I know the thumb drive is working. Can anyone offer an explanation or a solution? I'm ready to take this DVD player back and get a different make/model.Thanks
