Ok. So I got this mic today and I put it in the microphone jack on the back of my PC and I can hear it through the speakers but but FL studio 8 isn't reacting to it. ASIO4ALL only shows ESS ALLEGRO PCI AUDIO (WDM). I'm not really interested in recording I just want to put my voice through Auto-tune which is a plugin on my FL studio 8 help what do I do?

  1. Record your voice with another program such as audacity which is free(i think you can record in it) then export it as a wav and import that into Fl Studio by using the "sampler" which is on the fl studio 8 menu. Import it as a wav into the sampler. If you cant record in audacity then find something else that is freeware that lets you record vocals and export as wav, or you may have to buy sound forge, acid pro, or something similar. If its still not working with other programs, then its either your mic, your outlet, or your sound card. If your mic requires "phantom power" then that may be a reason why. I dont know if some mics do that, but you may need something that will supply phantom power to it such is an audio buddy or some kind of preamp. My mic is phantom powered but wont even work at all without this. Ive never recorded in fl studio so I dont know, I use pro tools and sometimes if im lazy I use acidpro with audio buddy.
