Philips TV HDMI CEC EasyLink tries to control...

Question

I have reprogrammed the remote for my particular TV (Philips LCD 42PFL7403D/F7) and also programmed a Universal remote - my problem is still not solved - the remote does not control the set top box when the TV is on.

I think it must be something to do with the Philips TV having HDMI CEC? The TV seems to try to control the set top box.

If the TV is off the FIOS remote will control the Verizon HD Set Top Box just fine. But when the Philips LCD HDTV is switched on, the FIOS remote will not control the Verizon HD Set Top Box anymore. The FIOS remote will control the Philips HDTV just fine. Has anyone got a solution?
