Question:

Philips TV won't turn on?

We have a Philips TV. We've had it for around 3 years. It has before just not turned on, not with the buttons on the TV or with the remote. When that has happened before we looked at the manual and it said to unplug it for a while and plug it back in, and that has always worked, until this time. We've unplugged it for the time suggested, and once even longer, still nothing. We tried a different plug (still didn't work), tried plugging other things into that plug (those things worked), and their website says the same thing as the manual.

It is a Philips and the model number (if you need it) is 27PT6441/37

Thanks for any help given.

  1. I have the same TV. What is wrong is a fuse. The repair people at Philips are useless, but the amazon.com webpage for the product has a step-by-step description for how to fix the TV. I'm not mechanically inclined, but I was able to go to RadioShack, take apart the TV and fix it.

  2. If a light comes on then it might just be the tv on/off switch is broken.

But if not then it is more then likely your power supply part. I don't know details on how to fix it, so you should probably call a professional if this is the case.
