Philips freevents notebook non starter

Question

I have the above notebook that will not turn on 3 weeks after the warrantee ran out!. The battery says it's charging but the machine lies as dead as a Dodo on pressing 'on'. ... no sound of things working ... no lights flickering except the charging light.
I have noticed it ran very hot ... do you think the power unit is caput.? If so where can I get another. I checked the on/off switch and that seems fine but no power getting through except to the battery...
Any suggestions?
