The Bayern Munich’s midfielder enforcer has played over forty games this season. He has been in tremendous form since the start of the 2012 European Championships. He set up both of Mario Gomez’s goals in the 2-1 defeat to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Netherlands-c753,
and was instrumental in helping Germany finish at the top of the 'Group of Death'.
There was a sudden dip in the midfielder’s form in the quarter-final against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Greece-c2908, where Joachim Low decided to deploy him in a more defensive role than usual, and used Khedira in more attacking role.
Schweinsteiger himself admitted a day ago that he has been carrying an injury from the start of the year. He revealed he has an ankle problem which has been troubling him for some time. The 27-year also revealed that he played
in the UEFA Champions League final through pain barrier.
Injury has had an effect on his performance, as the midfielder admitted that he was not able to make a simple pass.
His Bayern Munich teammate http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Philipp-Lahm-c29929 is also concerned about the midfielder’s condition; he revealed that Schweinsteiger has missed a few training sessions which is not a normal thing for him.
The Germany skipper insists that his team needs fit players for the upcoming last four clash against Italy. He believes the side is on dire need of players who are 100% fit as the game will be of high intensity.
"It is true, having had to miss three training sessions makes things a bit unclear for him. We need fit players in the semi-finals, we cannot have anyone who is missing three or four per cent,” he is quoted as saying in an interview.
The Bayern Munich man however, insists that he does not have to worry too much about Bastian as the midfielder knows his condition more than anyone else, so Lahm’s confident that the 27-year old will definitely be fit for the match
on Thursday.
"Having said that, I do not worry much about Bastian Schweinsteiger's fitness. He knows his body better than anyone else and I am sure he will be on that pitch on Thursday evening," he added.
Schweinsteiger is most likely to be ft for Germany’s semi-final against Cesare Prandelli’s side. If the midfielder is not fully fit then Joachim Low has an array of talent at his disposal. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Toni-Kroos-c35425 is the most suitable replacement
for the Bayern man, Kroos is a very similar player to Schweinsteiger.
