Phillips 1TB HDD problem, playing movies hrough...

Question

i am attempting to connect my external hard drive ( model: Philips SPE3091CC 1TB 3.5" External Hard Disk Drive USB2.0) to my dvd player through a USB cable. the dvd player or any others i have tried are not reading the HDD. i believe it is because the HDD has the format of NTFS where other HDDs that work are FAT32. there is no way to change the philips 1TB HDD to FAT32.how can i solve this problem?Thanks
