Phillips Windows Live Messenger phone

Question

We have these two phones purchased as above. They have been installed as per instructions and the phones beep all the time. we are able to use as a normal phone but when not in use they continually beep every couple of minutes.
Its driving me nuts.
Dont know how to stop it. Please help me.
